When it comes to weddings I prefer to take a natural, documentary-style approach to my photography. My favourite images are those which show people caught up in a moment; laughing, reacting to one another, and simply being themselves. I particularly love to capture the way a wedding feels; is it busy, crowded and noisy with people all over the place, or does being there feel intimate, like it's your own little bubble universe? Above all I like to be unobtrusive, allowing people to get on with enjoying themselves, and ensuring I create an authentic record of that particular moment in time.
I'm especially open to wedding enquiries from queer, LGBTQ and polyamorous folx. As a transgender asexual person in a polyamorous relationship, I love being able to celebrate the happiness of other queer people, and to be able to tell their stories with my camera. To that end I'm down to photograph any and all LGBTQ weddings, same-sex weddings and polyamorous weddings within Bristol and the South West. Whatever your orientation, relationship style or gender identity, I will greet you with a smile and a judgement-free attitude, so you can be yourself and get on with having the best day possible!
Back when I started out in photography, the majority of the weddings I worked at involved large-scale, full-day coverage. Over time, I've come to realise that there are different ways of approaching wedding photography, and now I mostly specialise in short weddings. I love small weddings because of their low-key, friendly atmosphere; there's just something especially intimate about them, and that really gives me the chance to hone in on those gorgeous little moments of emotion!
I also specialise in short weddings because I know wedding photography can be expensive. Not everyone has a large budget, and not everyone can afford the cost of keeping a photographer around on a full-day rate! I developed my short wedding package because I believe everyone should be able to have those special moments captured, regardless of income or financial status. That being said: please don't choose me just because I'm cheap! Have a look at my gallery first to ensure my style and ethos appeal to you!
I currently offer a short wedding package which includes 3 hours of coverage, along with an engagement / pre-wedding photoshoot. I include these because it gives us an opportunity to get comfortable around one another before your wedding, and should help you feel more relaxed about being on camera by the time your day arrives!
Please contact me separately for enquiries about full day packages.
Approximately 3 hours of coverage, starting from around 30 minutes before the ceremony.
